The Circle Jerks were a great band. "Wonderful" is an amazing album.

While you're workin' 9 to 5 do you know what your kids are doing?"

Red face

...and this thread further degenerates into yet another discussion of the merits of ragged clothing, dirt and disease, and the promtion of musical illiteracy as a style.

Hey...since you SOOO fucking clearly want me to discuss my past again, did you know that I know Jello Biafra? Not as Jello, but as Eric What'shisname.

If I can't beat, them...

Actually the Jerks are far from talentless, and they never tried to hide the fact that they are quite good at playing and writing music. Keith Morris is by far the least talented, and even he shines 99% of the time.

Jello was a great lyricist, but he has gone off his rocker in the past number of years. Such a shame, as he was great once upon a time. Well, lyric wise, voice wise he was always an aquired taste.

I agree with you on some Punks Jay, but the Jerks really were a "wonderful" band, and Keith Morris is an amazing talent when it comes to whistleing.

I love both bands...Circle Jerks and Dead Kennedys...Other bands worth noting...Flipper, Germ, Discharge, Black Flag, just a few bands I grew up listening to and love to this day.

Agreed with Carl though on Biafra's vocal style...it was an acquired taste for sure.
Love it though, especially the DK tune Chemical Warfare.

Black Flag and the Circle Jerks were the same damn band in the beginning, so you had better like 'em both. I just started to HATE Flag once it became the Rollins show.

Jay...are you still reading?

Exclamation

Of course...

Hey, anyone interested in some China White? How about a razor blade personally used by Stiv Bators to slash his wrists with? Why didn't Steve Leckie ever kill himself on stage as he promised he would? Was Pat Smear Darby Crash's first boyfriend or last? Did Butch Larkin ever really throw a chair at someone or even spit at them? Why didn't those who threw shit at Johnny Ripoff in Texas just shoot the deranged bohemian dead? How did a piece of shit such as Nancy Spungeon ever live, if that's the correct word, as long as she did?? Did Down-Low Dougie have AIDS when he died, from all those years of whoring himself out to men? How long will it take until the rest of the worst fucking excuse for a band in the past, present, and future of the entire cosmos dies off? If Patti Smith was really a nigger, was she ever lynched? When will people admit that Ian Stuart was the truest expression of the nihilistic fascism that was punk, as Charles Manson was to the hippies?
